If I ask you people what is education? What comes first into your mind?

Let’s first discuss that what is education, I define education as in simple words:

Education is the process of learning. ?

Education which we attain is just not only restricted to school, colleges or universities.Taking reference from my own studies (Sociology) gives us a lesson that, “Education starts from mother’s lap” and it also includes our family. We are taught manners and are brought into shape according to our society. Home is our first school. The institutes comes later. ?‍?

Taking reference from Civics, from personal experience it taught me to be a good and responsible citizen of your country. Be loyal towards your country and always be there when a need arises. Always prefer national interests over your personal interest. Fulfill your responsibilities and duties in good manner ?

There are two types of education:

Formal education: ?

It starts from school, where they are taught, how to behave and understand and what is going around them. The mind of a student goes vast in knowledge.

Informal education:

We gain this education by staying and living in our society and from our family members and different people. Moral values are given to us. We are taught how to speak, manners are given, respect is taught.

Personal Experience:

I have studied Sociology and Civics for two consecutive years in my intermediate and literally these two subjects have made me learn many things and I have tried to make myself a better person and a citizen by taking responsibilities and fulfilling my duties properly. I, from my personal experience say that these two subjects shall be studied by everyone because our generation is nothing more but manner less. They don’t even know how to respect their teachers, parents and classmates.

Importance of education:

Education is important for everyone. It really helps us to understand the problems we are facing and what others are going through. There is a lot of difference between legitimate and illegitimate person. A legitimate person will have more power to take decisions at the right time and move on. He/She has an ability to transform the world, Therefore it’s the prime duty of every citizen or individual to get educated and live a prosperous life and make something good out of their education. Pakistan really need educated people so the world can recognize Pakistan as a prospering state.

Let me tell you the problems we are facing related to the education in Pakistan:

Education is being gained by a lot of people in Pakistan, but the down trodden condition of education in Pakistan is unable to defend it’s own sector. Its been 62 years, 23 or more than this number policies and action plans have been introduced but no action is taken it’s just words. Everyone knows that the economic condition in Pakistan is under stress now and the educational sector is badly effected. ? (Reference from civics book 2 by mazhar ul haq, chapter 2 ) The constitution of Islamic republic of Pakistan which was called 1973 constitution says, “The state of Pakistan shall remove illiteracy and provide free and compulsory secondary education with minimum possible period“. In an era of Pervez Musharraf he heavily invested in education sector and after much efforts a slight change was seen in his era in Pakistani society.

Sociology (subject related to our society and problems we are facing and their solutions) tells us that according to human development report Pakistan is placed at 136th position for having just 49.9% educated population. It shows that people in the 6th largest country of the world are unable to get the basic education. ?❌

I know you people reading this would be thinking that did I just studies civics and sociology? Hahaha of course no ? I also studied English Literature which taught me to be creative and I also remember from the study that, I was much inspired by a quote mentioned in the book which was:

Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten.

But I never forget what was taught to me. I owe my teacher a lot. I hope when she would be reading this, she’d be feeling much proud ?❤?. Literature is also a subject which makes you creative and enhances your skill and tell you about your culture and people who were incredibly creative.

First we discussed what were the problems of education in Pakistan but now it comes to “Problems in education”

Pakistani education system is based on following:

●Unequal lines: Which means that medium of education is based on two main sectors, public and private sectors. This differentiates between rich and poor people and disparity among the social class.

●Regional disparity: It is the major cause of problem in education. According to a research Baluchistan which the largest province of Pakistan is not groomed by much schools and no facilities are given to the students there as compared to Lahore and Federal Capital these two areas are poshed by much higher educational facilities. This creates provincial discrimination as learnt in Pakistan Studies. ?

●Gender Discrimination: This is also a cause which is creating a difference and problem in education system. Girls are not given an opportunity to express themselves or to study but on the other hand boys they are given extra chances to explore themselves.

●Lack of technical education: The lack of technical education is the biggest flaw in the educational policy which has never been focused before. Therefore, less technical people means less. In the modern era, this has to be given.

●Funds: The allocation of funds is very low. The aids which we receive from international funds and charity for education is just vanished like a genie. ?

●Untrained teachers: The teachers in government schools are not well trained. The people who cannot find any job in their respective sector, they try their luck in educational sector and this is very true. The disadvantage of this is that they don’t know how to manage students, they don’t have experienced skills to deliver their lectures they just take their salaries and are enjoying by doing nothing. The major drawback of this factor is that students are left behind.

●Poverty: This is also a major cause in our education system. When no basic facilities given to the people why they will need education? Where there is so much fees of the institutions why poor people will send their children to these schools instead they send their children’s to the madrassas (Religious Institution).

There is one system in Pakistan which is prevailing from long time and that is called:

Contradictory system of education:

The education system prevailing in Pakistan is divided into three divisions:

First one comes for the upper class, this includes the schools, colleges and universities of higher standards where only the students of higher class can study, that are of politicians, bureaucrats, jirgah families and much more.

Second one comes for middle class, this includes the school, colleges and universities of middle standard level in which normal people not much rich not much poorer are allowed to go and study.

Then it comes for the lower class, not able to afford fee of education they send their children to madrassas which is a religious institution and is totally free.

Solutions for educational system:

●As we can see that Pakistan is facing much crisis in educational field we (Youth) should start our work for the prosper education system in Pakistan. The children who are unable to afford the education we should teach them.

●We should tell them the basic education advantages.

●Government should start the policy programs for education and start implementing them.

●Funds should be given to all the provinces and then should be looked into districts and institutions.

●Workshops must be arranged for the teachers so they must enhance their teaching skills and deliver it properly.

●Different awareness programs shall be started on taking education and gap between rich and poor which is difference between social classes shall be eliminated.

●Technical education must be installed in every education sector.

●Promotion of primary education is the need of time.

●New teaching methods and new syllabus plans must be introduced.

●Students shall not be burdened with so much books they should be given concepts of each and everything they are given in the form of education.

●Examination system shall be supervised properly and strictly as their are many faults in our examination system. Invigilators should be given strict training to supervise the students, and no bribery shall be accepted.

●Ratta system known as cramming should be finished.

These are just so less about the situation there is much more to say. Education has teached me to speak on my own according to the right i was given which is “freedom of speech”. I have just experienced these all problems in my life. Have you? I can see these problem around me. My surroundings are filled with these problems. If we will not work on this now so when will we?

I would like to speak to the emerging youth to wake up and speak and act on this. We achieved Pakistan after many hardships. This is the time when we need to act upon these problems. We need to make Pakistan the most educated country. First of all we, you people need to develop a sense of patriotism to love your country. Otherwise, it will collapse. Education system which is the lowest in Pakistan will take Pakistan to the heights if this will be corrected. I request you people to work on small things, help your neighbors, help your surroundings, and do something for your country because no one will do it until Pakistani citizens start to act upon and it’s really time for some action peeps ?.Pakistan really needs us. People studying in Pakistan and then they go out of the country for better facilities are the major problem in the educational sector. WHY DO YOU STUDY IN PAKISTAN THEN? IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT. YOU SHOULD STAY BACK HERE AND HELP PAKISTAN WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE

“If we want to make this great state of Pakistan happy and prosperous,we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well being of the people, and especially of the masses and poor”

This was said by our great leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Come on people help everyone. Help doesn’t makes you smaller infact it raises your status in the society and even before ALLAH ALMIGHTY. Islam defines that education shall be given to all and education should be taken until death. No one should stop learning. There is no age of learning.

Nation should be rest assured Pakistan is a safe atomic power. No one can cast evil eye on it.

When country heroes did much for you it is your main responsibility to give something in return. Pakistan gave us an identity. Now it’s time to give back to Pakistan.

What are your thoughts about this? We should build our own standard institutions so world would come and take education from us. What is Harvard? Nothing until we build our own. Like it’s funny when I see or talk to those people who say to me “What even Pakistan has given us”? ??? There is nothing in Pakistan. Oh come on people you are living in a country where  people of different religions are living peacefully there is no mass killing on the name of the religion. Everyone is allowed to practice their own religion. You roam alone in the night time. There is nothing to be afraid of.

The unique thing about our country is that we have Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, and people of all other religions. We have temples and mosques, gurdwaras and churches. But we do not bring all this into politics… This is the difference between Pakistan and India.

We should thank our GOD that he gave us Pakistan to live in.

Pretty neat content but I think we can make major change if we start it from the scratch as we need to change the criteria of hiring people in education sectors as the teachers are inefficient to teach ethics and basic personality building technique cuz everybody think of his/her self not the whole nation we should train our school teachers and govt schools, so that we can produce better mothers and father’s that can change the fate of Pakistan.
